The packing is usually braided by soft linear objects. It is filled in the sealing chamber by square bars with a sectional area. The packing is compressed by the gland, forcing the packing to compress on the sealing surface (outer surface of the shaft and sealing chamber), producing a radial force of sealing effect, thus playing a sealing role.

Application of soft packing:

The manufacturing material selected for packing determines the sealing effect of packing. Generally speaking, the manufacturing material of packing is limited by the temperature, pressure and pH of the working medium, and the surface roughness, eccentricity and linear speed of the mechanical equipment used for packing also require the selection of packing material.
